Donate to this projectCloudbase Foundation began as a way for the free flight community to support and improve the communities where we fly. Today, we fund locally-led projects in education, health, community, and infrastructure.
Some of the world's best paragliding and hang gliding sites sit high above regions where residents face significant hardship in daily life. From remote mountaintops to endless valleys, there are still many places that are perfect for exploring the skies, but challenging for citizens. In many places clean water, education, and basic healthcare aren't a given. From the air, pilots can appreciate the immense beauty of these communities; on the ground, the interactions they have often lead them to a desire to give back. This was how the Cloudbase Foundation was born.
Cloudbase Foundation helps enable pilots who so greatly appreciate being invited into communities to fly, to leave a legacy of lasting impact. We are a foundation supporting local communities bringing together the free flight community and our partners to fund it. We track the impact, and report back to our donors.
Every project starts near a flying site. Every one changes a community.

Through an open call, the local community tells us what they need most; whether that's a classroom or school or medical supplies, renewable energy or a new water well. Local pilots, community organizations or just visiting pilots who care are all invited to submit project ideas.
As a foundation, we mobilize the free flight community including paragliders, hang gliders and beyond together with our partners to raise funds to address local needs.
Every project is tracked against impact metrics; reported to our donors and a sustainability plan made to ensure longterm change. We don't just leave when the project is done, we continue to engage with the community through pilots who travel and report back on progress and change.
If your community — or one near a place you fly — has a need, tell us about it. Our open call is now live!
